The #mrx Tweeter of the Year 2011 is with us!

There are a lot of awards out there in the researchworld. At pretty much every event or congress, there’s prizes to be won and awards to take home. At InSites, we’ve won a couple of them, with the MOAawards and nominations for Esomar Congres and the MRS-awards fresh in our memory. So today, we have some Twitter-award news. As some of you know, there’s a lot of our bright minds at InSites spreading their thoughts and content on Twitter.
Famous ones who write books with a lot of followers are Steven Van Belleghem and Joeri Van den Bergh, there’s Niels Schillewaert who’s taking the acadamic angle, there’s Ramon Pardo in The Netherlands, Robert Dossin in the UK, Annelies Verhaeghe in Romania, to name just a few of our Twitter-InSites-force. Am I forgetting anyone special? Yes. … there’s Tom De Ruyck, our head of Research Communities in Belgium. Tom yesterday got awarded for his efforts to share knowledge about Research Communities on Twitter, using the #mrx hashtag. The Tweeter of the Year, as voted for by the #MRX community and readers, is Tom (@tomderuyck). De Ruyck was nominated together with the crème de la crème of the twittering research world. Below you will find some lists and a quote by the eminent jury.

“De Ruyck is a deserving winner – a regular contributor to industry debates, both online and offline, he’s worth following to hear his own challenging thoughts on market research trends and online communities, as well as those of others which he regularly re-tweets to help them reach a wider audience. De Ruyck has been tweeting since September 2007. He came to our attention in 2009 when he started working on InSites’ Ultimate Twitter Study, which sought to establish how the still-nascent micro-blogging service was being used by consumers.”
